Apple iPhone 11, iPhone XR successor launch invite is here, launch set for September 10

Apple iphone 11 invite

Rumours and leaks had suggested the iPhone 11 launch date long ago. It is now confirmed that the rumours were right. On Thursday night Apple sends the invite for the next iPhone launch event. The Apple invite reveals that the next iPhone will launch on September 10. As tradition goes like, the launch of upcoming iPhones — most likely the iPhone 11 series and iPhone XR2 — will happen at the Steve Jobs Theatre in Cupertino at 10am local time (10:30 IST) on the slated date, Sept 10. No India launch date of new iPhones for now.

The Apple invite shows the company logo in five colours — green, blue, yellow, red and purple. Apple hasn’t revealed what the colours mean but it is likely that these are the colour variants of the upcoming iPhones. In the past rumours and leaks have suggested that iPhones this year will come in funky colours. Last year too the iPhone XR was launched in several vibrant colours like orange, yellow, among others.

The Apple invite also notes “By innovation only”. There’s no clarity on what these words mean but we assume with “innovation” Apple is probably hinting at triple-camera iPhone that is expected to launch this year. As noted, for now, there are no details about India launch of the upcoming iPhones but usually, the new iPhones come to the country some days after the global launch.

In the past, we have come across several rumours and leaks revealing details about the iPhone 11 and iPhone XR successor. The rumours suggest that this year’s iPhone will sport very different design compared to last year’s iPhone X series, especially the rear panel. The iPhone 11 is expected to come with triple cameras on the back panel that will sit inside a square-shaped camera module.

The upcoming iPhones are said to be major upgrade over the predecessor, especially in terms of hardware, design and camera. The upcoming iPhones are also said to come with a bigger screen and better battery configuration. Some rumours also reveal that the new iPhones will come with support for bidirectional wireless charging.
